My Story

I was born in Southeast Texas, growing up in the towns of Coldspring and Willis. The youngest of three siblings, we spent most of our days in the Sam Houston National Forest and riding our bicycles on dirt roads. I grew up in the church, even leading the music programs for youth on Wednesdays and regularly participating in choirs and other musical events in the church and the community. Even though we didn't have much money, my parents valued the arts. We took piano lessons, guitar lessons, and participated in the Huntsville Children's Choir, supported by the Sam Houston State University.

After graduating with Undergraduate and Master's Degrees from a smattering of Baptist universities in East and Central Texas (ETBU, Baylor, and Dallas Baptist University), I continued leading music in churches (bi-vocationally) while also progressing in my banking career. 

Though my professional career has required the majority of time, constant songwriting and periodic live performances have been the bookends throughout the changing seasons of my life. In 2019, as time allowed, I began to work with a songwriting coach in Nashville, TN (Ross King). Together, he helped me release the songs "Broken Down Home", "The Power of Love", and "Slow". On Ross' advice, I began working with a Producer (Joel Rousseau) also from Nashville. With Joel's guidance and collaboration, I have released the songs, "Defects", "Moving", and -- most recently -- "More Todays" in 2021. 

​In June 2021, I took a hiatus from releasing music as we moved to Cheyenne, WY to accept a leadership position at Blue Federal Credit Union. After settling into life in the West, I unpacked the studio and began songwriting again. Thankful for the continuing partnership with Joel, I am preparing to share several new songs as a Wyoming artist.
